Hidden Grove Trails

We recently discovered the mystical trails “Hidden Grove” just off Porpoise Bay Road and it’s truly magical. Spend an hour or spend the day, there are many easy to walk paths, laden with hanging moss and remnants of old growth trees. Partially logged decades ago, this park was recently recognized and preserved for everyone to enjoy. Adjacent to Sechelt Heritage Forest, we can easily walk from our place if we’re feeling like a really good workout. Standing amongst ancient cedars, douglas firs and the largest arbutus I’ve seen allows me to connect with the beauty and magnificence of mother nature’s gifts.

This time of year the sun filters a warm glow onto the moss laden greens of old stands and reminds me of the forest scenes of the most recent Hobbit film. It feels like I’m right there in Mirkwood!
